Kaitlyn Ho

KaitlynbeforeKaitlyn Ho was just 13 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare and serious autoimmune disorder called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Initially diagnosed with an infection, she was treated with antibiotics. As the fever persisted, her parents brought her to the Hospital for Sick Children. After 5 weeks of treatments, including blood transfusions, steroids, immune supressors and chemotherapy, her doctors determined that she would need a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, after fighting against the disease for seven weeks, Kaitlyn lost the battle and rested in her parents’ arms surrounded by loved ones on November 15, 2013. Though leaving us much too early, Kaitlyn’s spirit is beautiful and strong.
